Tarpaulin on mosques before Holi in Sambhal – 10 mosques including Jama Masjid covered, administration issued alert mode

Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh – Sambhal administration and police have taken a decisive step today to prevent disputes that may occur at religious places on the day of Holi festival. Under this decision, 10 mosques including Jama Masjid located on the routes of Holi Chaupai procession will be covered with foil and tarpaulin, so that any kind of unnecessary clash can be avoided during the festival.

Key points of the incident

Covering of mosques:

On the day of Holi festival in Sambhal, mosques falling on the procession routes, of which Shahi Jama Masjid is the main one, will be covered with foil and tarpaulin. This step has been taken after talks and consent from both the parties, so that a peaceful atmosphere is maintained during the festival.

Administration on alert mode:

The police administration has put the entire district on alert mode from the security point of view. Additional CCTV cameras have been installed, drone surveillance has also been started and lekhpals and other security personnel have been deployed on special duty in sensitive areas. SDM Vandana Mishra said that 21 lekhpals have been deployed at mosques so that immediate action can be taken in case of any dispute or riots.

Importance of timing:

An important reason for this decision in Sambhal is that Friday prayers are also held along with Holi. The administration has ensured that the security of religious places is maintained during the festival and no chaos spreads.

Administrative response and security arrangements

Sambhal DM Rajendra Pensia said that magistrates and police officers have been deployed in each area by dividing the district into 6 zones and 29 sectors. He said, "We have made arrangements for additional surveillance in all sensitive areas so that any kind of clash or riot can be dealt with during Holi."

Additionally, the administration has appealed to the local people to celebrate the festival with brotherhood and harmony. This will reduce the possibility of any kind of violence or dispute to a great extent.

Conclusion

This step of the Sambhal administration can prove to be an important initiative to maintain peace and harmony on the day of Holi. The decision to put tarpaulin on mosques ensures that the dignity and security of religious places remains intact during the festival. The administration has also made additional security arrangements while being on alert mode, so that community mutual understanding is promoted and no dispute arises.
